Florida’s attorney general rewrites property tax amendment for November ballot
Florida’s attorney general rewrote the ballot language for a proposed property tax amendment after a judge found the wording misleading. The measure would increase homestead exemptions beginning in 2027 if approved by at least 60% of voters in November.

Mortgage rates dip slightly for the first time in six weeks
The 30-year fixed rate slipped to 6.67% from 6.69% last week. The 15-year fixed rate also fell, to 5.96% from 6.01%. Both remain above year-ago levels.
